For our Eighteenth Monday Meeting, we’re delighted to feature Kerry Adamson, the Co-Founder of immersive dining and private events company, Gingerline. As the Ideator and Project Manager, Kerry’s boundless skills as a communicator enables her to bring to life the ideas from inception, and impeccably coordinate the whole team from the chefs to the technicians involved to realise Gingerline’s dining experience extraordinaire.
We love your goal: ‘simply to create the ultimate dining experience’. Where do you find your inspiration to create such unique dining events?
We gather inspiration from all areas – the buildings that we create the events in play a big part plus whatever we’re reading, researching or watching at the time all feeds in.
What been your most memorable dining experience to date?
It’s difficult to say, as each experience becomes more intricate and adventurous than the last but one of my favourites has to be our hidden, golden casino deep in the heart of Honor Oak Park. We covered every wall in gold foil and guests entered the space via a tunnel and a huge working casino wheel.
Can you tell us about any occasions on which your creations didn’t turn out as expected?
We had a few hairy moments during the pop-up years including losing our entire main course an hour or so before we were due to serve it (Nights of the Circus) and transporting hot food via shopping trollies (Puppets Workshop) but we’ve learnt a lot over the past six years and happily, things tend to run to plan of late!
Your process is (understandably) kept under tight wraps! Is there anything you can tell us about your flavour experimentation and recipe process? Do you have dedicated Gingerline guinea pigs to trial your new creations?
Yes, everything we do is and must be top-secret! Though I can say our team of Flavourologists test, refine and remedy along the way so that by the time dinner is served to our intrepid explorers; it is (we hope!) the finest and most delightful flavour combination guests could wish for!

What new and exciting events does Gingerline have to offer over the next coming months?
We’ve just re-awoken the machine contained within our multi-dimensional dining adventure, the Chambers of Flavour (v2), which will run into 2017. We’ve already sold out all tickets until January but more will be released at midday on 31st October, so watch out for the smoke signals at www.chambersofflavour.co.uk
Our Classic Gingerline Returns experience is sadly coming to the end of its run having successfully sold out eight months of dining escapades. We look forward to creating something spectacular somewhere new along the Gingerliness!
Many of our readers are in charge of organizing events for their companies, how easy is the process for putting on bespoke events? How can they get in touch?
We’ve just launched the private events arm of Gingerline – Institute of Flavourology – which is now taking bookings for early 2017. We’ve created a series of magical menus for a wide range of events, from corporate parties through to birthday celebrations, with the option to create entirely bespoke events too. Our creative and kitchen teams work closely with event organisers; helping them easily create a memorable and impactful experience. Visit: www.instituteofflavourology.co.uk to find out more.
